The 1600 u-joint slides into either the 1600 4-speed or the 5-speed diesel transmission The diesel transmission mount is 2" farther back on the tail-shaft than it is on the roadster 4 or 5 speed transmissions. The shift lever appears to come out 2" forward of where the shift lever on the 1600 4-speed transmission is located. The speedometer connection is farther back, and on the
opposite side of the transmission case. A longer speedo cable would
be needed. |
